Bumps in the road, the very speed bumps that upset the flow of progress and add conflicting thoughts of “go or slow” are the ones I detest and appreciate at the same time. They force me to be cautious. Evaluate my space and surroundings and chart a directional course carefully. Darned bumps are the confusions that expose me –humble me, like no success or free-flowing pathway would.
How can I possibly appreciate altered course? My answer is to rely on God. He already knows I need Him. He already hears the escalating speed and slow-to-near stop rhythmic rolling motion up and over the obstacles before moving onward. Oh, how He knows.
Prayer is the ticket for the humble, the arrogant, the meek, lost, child-that-I-am-at-times…Prayer is the answer. Lord, show me the way. Help me learn from a child serving up lessons of life. Help me learn from the wise on this route ahead of me. Help me lean on others who offer direction. Let wisdom come in the speed bumps of life.
